About Teri Thomas

Domestic Violence Survivor, Educator, Child Protection Advocate

I am a survivor of horrific domestic violence as a teenager. I spent two years of my life trapped under his spell. I was emotionally, mentally, and physically abused. I’m often asked “How did you leave? What gave you the courage to stay away?” My answer – faith and will power. It is all I had. I didn’t want to die so I had to muster up the courage to RUN.

I became disowned by my family and went eight years making my way through life. I now hold a Masters Degree in Social Work, advocate for children and families, and teach at a top public university.

If I can go through HELL and live to tell my story to allow others to feel empowered to share their stories, YOU CAN TOO! We all have the ability within us to create a ripple effect.

I am wholeheartedly on your side.
